About Brian...
My Story
So just who am I? Well, here’s my story.

From the time I was young I believed science held all the answers. If the rules of the Universe could be figured out, anything was possible.
Star Trek was my inspiration! It taught me how technology, logic and determination could triumph. It also introduced me to a Universe where anything is possible.
It exposed me to alternate existences and ways that societies could function. It taught me to CHALLENGE the assumptions our society takes for granted – to look at our beliefs with a critical eye.
That’s me at age nine in the picture – the smile says it all. I felt protected, special and that my life had a larger purpose that lay waiting to be discovered.
I studied sciences and graduated from university with a degree in Engineering, the PRACTICAL APPLICATION of science.
I began my career, got married, bought a house, and started a family. I climbed the corporate ladder and played by their rules.
I did everything society told me to...
I invested and saved; I took care of my family. On one level it satisfied, but at a deeper level I was wanting more.
I felt I had something more to contribute to the world.
Not sure what that was, I decided to run my own business, and so I bought a small company that was to become the cornerstone of my enterprise.
I built a new house in a new city and with a wife and four young children, life seemed good. I was on my way!

Then things began to go wrong…
The business faltered, we spent long hours at work and the family began showing signs of stress. I had a serious health scare. My wife developed major health issues and our kids were getting in trouble at school. Everything seemed to be falling apart.
“What the hell is going on?” I thought.
I sought answers from business mentors and spiritual advisers. Surely an answer lay in either hard work, religion, or science. Was I being punished? I thought if I was smart enough and worked hard enough I could figure it out. I was a fixer, a solver, someone who could always find a creative solution to any problem.
Except now. I felt I was paddling upstream against too strong a current, and I was exhausted.
Life did NOT feel good! It felt painful, shameful, and depressing. Eventually the business failed, and our savings were gone, along with my self confidence.
Why was this happening to me? What had I done wrong? I had played by all the rules!
What had happened to my charmed life?
A strange calm...
Surprisingly, once the business was gone and I was FORCED to let go, I felt strangely free. There was no more “efforting” to be done. With no job and little money, I had time to spend with family, to ponder, and to just be.
The decision my pride would not let me make for myself, had been made for me.
Over the next three months, we survived on a small amount of cash hidden in a sock drawer and the food in our deep freeze. We took long bike rides with our youngest in the bike trailer, spent time in nature, and enjoyed quiet time reflecting.
We had time to replenish, energetically and spiritually.
Life slowed down and felt better… just highly uncertain.
A fresh start...

One day I saw an ad for a job I knew I could excel at and seemed made for me. I applied, was interviewed, and received a job offer the next day.
It was not my passion, but it was survival, and I was never more appreciative to have a job in my life!
That’s corporate me on the left! Back in the game and smiling again.
But something in me had changed…
As I started this new role, I found something in me was different. After barely surviving financial, health, and family hardships, my definition of a “crisis” had shifted. What others thought were major concerns, to me, seemed minor, trivial and easily solvable.
Over the next few years, I again played the corporate game and worked to rebuild my career and my confidence.
Life was looking better, and I was on my way back.
Then it happened…
The day after he was at our home for Easter, my brother-in-law died unexpectedly of a heart attack.
We were in shock. How can someone be here and alive one instant and gone the next – without warning?
Where was the sense and the meaning in this?
EVERYTHING shifted and I felt that I was living in a bubble.
As the world rushed by, concerned with what again seemed to be trivialities, I found I now had different concerns and priorities.
Here we were planning a funeral for someone my age. It was surreal!
Is this all there is to life?
One day you are here, and you’re GONE the next?
What about all his responsibilities, his family, his small business, the people who depended on him? What about his PLANS for the future? What about MINE?
What’s the point of life if you;re gone in a heartbeat? If I dropped dead tomorrow, was I happy living my life TODAY? Where’s the MEANING in it all?
And then the questions…
My sister, my wife, and I began asking some of life’s BIGGER questions.
- Why did Peter die?
- Where is he now?
- Does consciousness continue?
- Can we communicate with him?
- How does life and the Universe operate?
- Moreover, what is the point of life anyway?
We began reading books on such things as near death experiences (NDEs), reincarnation, past life and life-between-life regressions, wondered about the LEGITIMACY of mediums and channelled messages, as well as the overall nature of existence, CONSCIOUSNESS and our “soul”.
We read, questioned, attended workshops, questioned some more, attended conferences and seminars by leaders in their fields.
In the course of a year and half, we attended lectures and participated in workshops with…
- Dr. Raymond Moody,
- Danielle MacKinnon,
- Carol Bowman,
- Dr. Brian Weiss,
- Neale Donald Walsh,
- Michael Bernard-Beckwith,
- Dr. Jill Bolte-Taylor,
- don Miguel Ruiz,
- Barbara Marx Hubbard,
- Gregg Braden,
- Bruce Lipton,
- Wayne Dyer,
- Louise Hay,
- John Holland,
- John Edward,
- James VanPraagh,
- Denise Linn,
- Colette Baron-Reid,
- Abraham through Esther Hicks and many others.
We read books by these same speakers, as well as by…
- Dr. Michael Newton,
- Lynn McTaggart,
- Jose Arguelles and
- Seth, by Jane Roberts.
And finally some answers…
The information and the evidence we uncovered was COMPELLING and the credibility of many of the sources impeccable.
Most of these people were highly educated pillars of their establishment who were SKEPTICAL initially, but as they investigated they found evidence that was overwhelming and UNDENIABLE.
Ideas and concepts I would have previously SCOFFED at, I began to seriously CONSIDER.
Reconciling and integrating...
I tried to RECONCILE my new understandings with my previous religious and science-based views. I tried to maintain a healthy skepticism while remaining OPEN to new possibilities.
I began to have PERSONAL experiences of intuitive knowing and awareness. I attended some spiritualist services where I received messages that were spot on. I began meditating.
Beginning in Feb, 2012, I underwent 17-months of intensive, one-on-one Intuitive Coaching & Mentoring with Psychic Intuitive Danielle MacKinnon to develop my own abilities.
As I had more and more personal experiences it became clear…
…something was going on beyond what conventional science and traditional religion could explain.
Ordinary pursuits like building a traditional career seemed trite, meaningless, and too small. This spiritual material FASCINATED and INTRIGUED me.
If I was seeking these answers, others must be also.
In addition to studying and learning, I was APPLYING these concepts in my daily life. I began offering my own Intuitive Coaching & Mentoring services online.
I continued my own spiritual growth by STUDYING the works of Bashar through Darryl Anka, Kryon through Lee Carroll, and other teachers like Joe Dispenza, and Mike Dooley. I even became one of Mike Dooley’s Infinite Possibilities Certified Trainers and served as part of the crew at several of his conferences.
Finding new purpose…
I had finally found the purpose I had been searching for my whole life… a way to help people and humanity thrive, but not in a tangible bricks and mortar way, but SPIRITUALLY, by sharing and teaching what I’d come to know and found worked in practice.
But I realized I wanted to build something beyond the teaching of others and what already existed.
I wanted to create my OWN unique offering.
Goodbye corporate...
In 2014, I walked away from the corporate world to focus on spiritual pursuits. I realized I could better serve groups of people rather than just working one on one, and began teaching in-person workshops and presenting at speaking engagements.
I saw that although there were pockets of information being taught by others, there was no complete picture that encompassed ALL these concepts.
My engineering mind sought to create an integrated framework of understanding that would connect and UNIFY all these concepts.
I sought to create a truer, more complete PARADIGM, that embodied all this knowledge.
Furthermore, I wanted it to be beyond theoretical, to have practical value in daily life. I wanted it explained in a straightforward way that was clear and easy to understand and apply.
My vision was to streamline the learning process to help other seekers come to know what I know and live.
I then began the task of bundling all the knowledge I had gained and assembling it into a format that could help others…
Hello Paradigm 3k...
In 2016 the idea for Paradigm 3k was conceived. Over the next several years I amassed and integrated information from a diverse range of sources into the content that now exists on the P3k website.
I committed to offer this to the world in a way that was freely available and could be revised, expanded, and updated easily. This led to creating a dynamic website rather than static books.
Although these concepts have become natural for me, I realize many might wrestle with them given how DIFFERENT they are to the worldview commonly held in mainstream society.
That brought me back around to including coaching and mentoring as part of my offering, which is why you are reading these words on this website today.

Some takeaways from my life so far…
- So what have I learned from these experiences?
- How have they changed my perspective and approach to life?
- What do I feel are the most important things to remember?
I’d now like to share my top takeaways…
5 Key Takeaways…
1) Honour Your Innate Drive:
Some people have within them a drive, a yearning to understand, comprehend, and contribute to the world. Others do not and are content merely to gorge on life’s pleasures and amass material wealth. They don’t UNDERSTAND the fire that burns in the seekers, and they may think them misguided and foolish to pass up hedonistic existence.
Meanwhile, those with strong yearning, try as they might, will never be satisfied or feel fulfilled just living a life of obliviousness and superficial pleasure. Although they enjoy life’s pleasures, they need greater meaning and self actualization to feel complete and on path.
Their True North is not money, possessions, or pleasure; it is understanding, meaning, and the true wealth of genuine thriving, authenticity, integrity, satisfaction, and self actualization.
Their drive also contains desire to make their contribution, because, for them, sharing of themselves and contributing is a source of joy and satisfaction.

2) Welcome Course Corrections:
If, in your seeking and being called in a certain direction, you wander slightly off your path, you will sense it. If you persist, it will become increasingly painful and obvious to you until it is adjusted / corrected either by you or by the Universe.
Try to accept and embrace these course corrections as a natural part of growth. They are helping you find your greatest joy.
The winding path is usually more scenic, meaningful, and memorable.
Your life will be full of stories. Make them grand, interesting, meaningful ones.
Dream big; live big; love big.

3) Demand Benefit from All
Experiences:
Every experience, challenge, trial, and hardship served me by contributing to the totality of who I am today, what I am now capable of, and am now empowered to be and do. Remove any of these experiences, and I would not be the person I am today.
The same is true for you. Greatest challenge often brings greatest clarity, growth, and resolve.
- Don’t curse these experiences, re-frame them, appreciate them, declare, and demand that they serve you in some way.
- Integrate the understanding they bring and add this to the totality of who you are.
- Expect and welcome a diversity of experiences.
- Be determined to grow and expand from each one.
Whatever happens, DECLARE that “this too, must serve me.”
4) Embrace Growth:
Perspectives and definitions change because of growth.
- What was once a crisis is now manageable with a little ingenuity, resourcefulness, and creativity.
- What was once disaster becomes opportunity.
- What was once hardship becomes challenge.
- What was once stress and anxiety becomes adventure and excitement.
- What once seemed like insurmountable hurdles are now routinely mastered.
Re-frame its meaning to make it work for you.
Periodically glance in your rear-view mirror to see just how far you’ve come

5) Seek Optimal Tension:

See yourself like a guitar string...
- Too slack and you are ineffective in your purpose.
- Too stretched and you may snap… also ineffective.
But ideally tensioned and tuned, you sing the purest, most beautiful, most genuine and authentic note.
Tune yourself and your life...
…constantly adjust and optimize creative tension to find your purest tone, that emanates and radiates the ESSENCE of the BEST of who you are.
Oh, and as for science...
Science is a great start…
…but there is far more to life, existence, and reality than what science’s current understanding has grasped or acknowledged.
Star Trek’s true vision…
What I initially saw in Star Trek as a child, was the dazzling scientific technology. But what came through to me later, as I matured, was the more enlightened regard for life and humanity. It portrayed a higher social order, not just a higher technological order.
I sensed EXPANDED understanding, acceptance, open-mindedness and diversity of thought and identity, that hinted at exciting possibilities for a brighter future for all creation. I glimpsed an enlightened culture, not controlled or fixated on money, but rather IDEALS of fairness, benevolence, and tolerance.
My vision…
In that world, everyone contributed in their own way, and everyone’s needs were met. Science and technology were tools used for constructive, rather than destructive purposes, primarily for the empowerment and betterment of ALL life.
I believe these ideals ARE possible for all humanity, and whatever I can do to advance and contribute to their realization, brings me great personal satisfaction and meaning.
And being able to SHARE this understanding with others who are interested, well, that’s just the icing on the cake…
